Member Agencies

The NJTPA Board is composed of representatives from each of the 13 counties and from the region's two major cities, Newark and Jersey City (a link to a list of Board of Trustees Members is at left). These jurisdictions are known as the NJTPA "subregions." Each subregion has an agency that is designated to conduct transportation planning and coordinate with the staff of the NJTPA. The Board also includes a Governor's Representative, the Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT), the Executive Directors of NJ Transit and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and a Citizens' Representative appointed by the Governor. The staffs of the Governor's Office, NJDOT, NJ Transit and the Port Authority also work closely with the NJTPA staff.
