Analysis Temporary Part-Time

Job
Description: Under
the direction of the Department Director of Planning, the Planning Analysis staff
will support and assist full-time staff in advancing work tasks for data
analysis. Activities may involve
collection, maintenance, programming, communication, coordination and
application of data. In general, the staff will be responsible for using GIS
and other data representational techniques as tools to convey the agency’s
mission to internal staff, members and the general public in a cohesive way
through a diversity of planning initiatives. Staff may also be called upon to
support Planning in all aspects, including researching and synthesizing
information, administrative and logistical support, and other tasks as
assigned.
Qualifications: The
successful candidate will possess strong technical skills in GIS, and database
development and analysis, and programming as well as good communications abilities
and the desire and temperament for a collaborative, dynamic work environment. The
Planning Analysis staff will work closely with Freight Planning, Regional
Planning, Systems Planning, Operations, and other NJTPA staff as needed.
Specific Tasks:
- Develop
map templates and maintain pre-made map inventory on topics most often
requested of the data group. Topic such as:

possibility of more user-friendly interface

coding options such as OpenSource, Java, Visual
Studio and C++ on .Net framework
