NJTPA Public Comment Periods

The NJTPA recently concluded public comment periods on the documents below. The NJTPA Board of Trustees is scheduled to take action on them at its May 12 meeting.

Draft FY 2008 TIP Amendment and Air Quality Conformity Determination

These proposed changes to the Transportation Improvement Program would shift $17.745 million to two projects and one program for the current fiscal year. They are:

  • Route 78, East of Tunnel Road to East of Beaver Brook, Resurfacing (Hunterdon County)
  • Central Avenue, Roadway Resurfacing and Improvements (Essex County)
  • The NJTPA Future Projects program

The sources of funding are three projects that are being reevaluated or undergoing scheduling changes:

  • Route 78, Diamond Hill Road Interchange (Union County)
  • Monmouth Bridge S-31 (Monmouth County)
  • Helen Street Extension from Antonett Street to Metuchen Road (Middlesex County)

Draft North Jersey Regional Coordinated Human Services Transportation Plan

This plan contains analysis of the human services transportation needs of the region and suggests potential activities to improve mobility opportunities for residents and travelers in the region.

The NJTPA's Planning & Economic Development Committee is scheduled to make a recommendation on the draft plan at its April 21 meeting. That recommendation is scheduled to be considered by the NJTPA Board at its May 12 meeting.
