Pursuant to the federal transportation planning regulations, 23 CFR Part 450, the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority (NJTPA), Inc. is soliciting comments from citizens, public agencies, employee representatives, private providers of transportation, and other interested parties on two proposed amendments to the Fiscal Year 2012-2015 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). Comments must be received by April 16, 2012.
The first proposed amendment would add $3.256 million in funding for the following project to the FY 2012 TIP: Route 130 at Adams Lane and Maple Mead Road, North Brunswick, Middlesex County. This project, which had been included in previous TIPs, would incorporate needed utility work and roadway enhancements along eight-tenths of a mile of Route 130 at Adams Lane and Maple Mead Road to improve the operating level of service. The addition of a project to the TIP requires a TIP amendment and a public comment period.
The second proposed amendment would add $8.3 million in funding for the following project to the FY 2012-2015 TIP: New Brunswick Bikeway, New Brunswick, Middlesex County. This project, which had been included in previous TIPs, is being added to the current TIP to create additional bikeways aimed at completing a regional network of bike paths and lanes that will link the various Rutgers University campuses in the city of New Brunswick. The addition of a project to the TIP requires a TIP amendment and a public comment period.

In addition, the NJTPA is soliciting comments on a proposed amendment to the Fiscal Year 2012-2015 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). Comments must be received by April 26, 2012.
The proposed amendment would add $7.8 million in funding to FY 2013 of the TIP for repair/resurfacing of Route 206 from North Wood Thrush Lane to north of Brown Avenue in Montgomery and Hillsborough townships.
This project already is included in New Jersey’s State Transportation Improvement Program for the portion of work to be done in the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC) region. This action will add the project to the NJTPA’s TIP and allow for federal authorization of construction funds.
