FY 2016 Local Capital Project Delivery Program Studies
The NJTPA Board of Trustees approved five studies on Jan. 12, 2015 that will investigate options for replacing or rehabilitating aging bridges in northern and central New Jersey.
The five applications were selected to receive a total of $3 million in federal funding through the NJTPA’s fiscal year 2016 Local Capital Project Delivery Program, which awards grants to counties and cities to investigate all aspects of a project, including environmental, right of way, access, design and feasibility issues. Projects that complete this initial investigative work, called the Local Concept Development Phase, may be eligible for eventual construction with federal funds.
Below, NJTPA Chairman Thomas DeGise comments on the 2016 projects before the Board of Trustees vote endorsing them.
The following studies were approved to receive grant funding:
Kingsland Avenue Bridge
, Lyndhurst and Nutley, $750,000. Applicant: Bergen County, in partnership with Essex County.
