Public Meeting: JFK Blvd Safety Improvements

This project includes improvements to a portion of John F. Kennedy Boulevard from Bond Place to Bergen Avenue and at the intersection of Bergen and Sip avenues in Jersey City.

The pedestrian median will be enlarged, traffic signals will be upgraded, curb extensions will be added where feasible, and vehicular paths will be realigned to improve safety. This project would also extend the two-way bike lane along Bergen Avenue from Sip Avenue to JFK Boulevard.

Hudson County applied for an was awarded Federal Highway Safety Improvement Program Funds from the Federal Highway Administration through the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority's Local Safety Program for the design,construction, and construction inspection services

The total cost to design this project is $326,000 and the total estimated construction cost is $2.4 million.
