This study is part of the NJTPA's Freight Concept Development Program. The study investigated options to eliminate at-grade crossing on South Main Street while maintaining freight rail access to existing and future customers along the Port Reading Secondary Line. The intent of the study is to alleviate traffic congestion that occurs during gate closures in downtown Bound Brook as well as South Bound Brook and Middlesex Borough.
