FY2014 Safety Projects

The NJTPA Board of Trustees endorsed 15 projects that wilsafety guide raill make travel safer for drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists throughout the region at the Sept. 10 meeting. The projects were approved for grants through the NJTPA’s fiscal year 2014 Local Safety and High Risk Rural Roads programs which provide federal funds to counties and cities for high-impact safety improvements that are relatively “quick-fix” in nature and ready for construction. In total, the NJTPA action allocated approximately $9.7 million for Local Safety Program projects and $5.4 million for High Risk Rural Roads Program projects in FY 2014, both annual highs for the programs since their inception.
