Warren County, with a population of 108,692, is located in the western part of the state. It is bordered by the Delaware River and sits entirely in the river's watershed. In recent years, housing and commercial development has increased along key transportation corridors such as Route 46 and Interstate 78.

The Dutch settled the area and built the Old Mine Road, the oldest commercial highway in the United States. In 1824, the county separated from Sussex County. Belvidere is the county seat. The county continues to retain some of its early agricultural prominence, leading the Garden State in the production of dairy cattle, milk, eggs, feed corn and alfalfa. In addition, farm markets, nurseries, wineries and "boutique" growers are expanding within the county. Agriculture is still an important part of the county life and part of the attraction of the rural/suburban environment.
