NJLTAP – Implementing a Safe System Approach: A Playbook for State and Local Transportation Agencies

NJLTAP – Implementing a Safe System Approach: A Playbook for State and Local Transportation Agencies (Webinar)
May 19, 12 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Sponsored by the NJ Local Technical Assistance Program (NJLTAP) at Rutgers University. There is no single pathway toward achieving a Safe System and there is no recipe for implementation. Achieving a Safe System is a complex journey that requires strengthening all elements in the system by numerous stakeholders. Stakeholders across the transportation community are already acting to advance the Safe System approach by making decisions guided by the underlying Safe System principles.
In this webinar, you will learn about strategies that state and local transportation agencies are implementing to advance the Safe System approach with focus on the Safe Roads and Safe Speed elements. The strategies are presented as a “playbook” intended to assist agencies by providing ideas and potential practices for Safe System implementation. Similar with a playbook for a football team, it is not necessary to run every play to achieve your winning objective. Also, selecting appropriate “plays” to run will depend on where your agency is located “on the field”.

Credits:  Participants will receive 1 PDH; 1 NJ CPWM Technical Credit Applied For, for each course they attend.
