The City of Newark will host virtual public meeting via Microsoft Teams about proposed safety improvements to 11 intersections along a 1.1-mile portion of Bergen Street between Madison Avenue and 14th Avenue. The public is encouraged to attend the meeting to learn about potential safety improvements and provide feedback on the preliminary design. A slide presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer session.

Through its Local Safety Program, the NJTPA funds safety improvements on county and local roadways in urban, suburban, and rural communities. The NJTPA has also developed a Local Safety Engineering Assistance Program to provide professional services to advance the design of safety improvements.
