Internship: Office of Planning, Policy and Economic Development
16 Hours/week, Non-Exempt, No benefits - with opportunity to work full-time during school break.
The Somerset County Office of Planning, Policy and Economic Development, one of the leading and progressive planning organizations in the state, is seeking a talented, energetic and creative City and Regional Planning graduate or undergraduate student for a part-time intern position. The intern will assist a diversified staff of professional planners who are involved in a wide range of transportation and smart growth planning initiatives. The successful candidates will be working closely with County Staff, the public and citizens groups on a number of innovative transportation, land use and regional planning projects.
- The successful candidate must have excellent analytical, computer, GIS, written and verbal communication skills.
- Candidates with a strong knowledge of transportation planning, land use planning and GIS planning applications are highly encouraged to apply.
- Data analysis skills are also highly desirable.
- Applicants should be an undergraduate or graduate students in planning or a closely related field with a strong interest in the areas of transportation, regional planning, and land use planning.
- Required to be New Jersey resident or enrolled in a school in New Jersey.
